TL;DR: An outstanding little workhorse! My floors are spotless. It is smart, efficient, quiet, has a sharp design, and is absolutely worth the investment. This is my first Mova product, and the sheer number of features available during setup blew me away.
Context & Home Setup
• The Household: Two adults (both autistic, with sensory sensitivities) and one Corgi. No shoes allowed indoors.
• The Home: A 16’ x 60’ Clayton Modular (2BR/2BA).
• The Schedule: Daily vacuuming; vacuuming and mopping 3x a week.
• Performance: It has zero issues handling this workload. After a few runs, its navigation speed and battery efficiency improved significantly. It flawlessly navigates furniture without getting stuck. Tip: I added small spacers to two pieces of furniture, and now it goes under/around everything.
The Competition: Mova vs. Shark & Eufy
For transparency, I’ve previously owned a couple of Sharks and, most recently, a Eufy X10 Pro Omni. None of them hold a candle to the Mova. My previous performance complaints have all been resolved. The Eufy was "not very smart"—for example, it would return to the base station to wash its pads but then "forget" to lower them, failing to actually mop. Plus, Eufy’s support was terrible. My high expectations for the Mova were exceeded by a landslide.
Key Highlights
• 1. Flawless Dustbin Emptying: Unlike the Eufy—whose flawed design caused the filter to cake with dog dander after two runs and stop picking up dirt—the Mova actually empties completely. Very little debris is left in the filter even after a week of daily runs.
• 2. Seamless Mop-Swap Tech: The mop-swap transitions are quick, smooth, and the carriage is silent. I adjusted the dry time from 3 hours down to 2, and everything still dries completely.
• 3. Exceptional Hair Management: It handles pet hair beautifully and removes it from the pads effortlessly. After a week of cleaning, there were literally three dog hairs in the washboard filter. It also offers up to 3 cleaning passes; while I doubt I'll need it, it’s a great option for high-traffic areas like a mudroom.
• 4. Cautious & Smart Obstacle Avoidance: It errs on the side of caution, which I prefer over a robot blindly plowing through things. It initially flags hidden or secured cables, but once you confirm/dismiss them in the app, it's smooth sailing. It almost never touches furniture and has zero scratches.
o Minor Nitpick: The AI occasionally flags the color-contrasting seams on my vinyl wood flooring as "fabric on the floor." I see why it makes the mistake, and I’ve reported it a few times in the app, but it's easily dismissed and hasn't caused issues using the default clearance settings.
• 5. Premium Cleaning Solution: The Mova solution smells phenomenal—elegant and classy, almost like a subtle men’s cologne. It dries fast with zero residue. Crucially, as someone sensitive to air quality and VOCs, my air monitor detects zero emissions. It does a decent job keeping the dirty water tank from smelling, though I plan to drop a small antibacterial denture tablet in the waste tank during empties to help.
• 6. Granular App Control: The app is incredibly detailed. It includes unique options like emptying the robot's internal water tank and generating a Wi-Fi coverage map (great for large homes).
o Minor Complaint: For a $1,200 machine, the English translations for app notifications could be a bit better.
• 7. Sensory-Friendly & Quiet: The self-empty cycle is shockingly quiet. My partner and I are both autistic, and he is highly sensitive to certain frequencies. The Eufy sounded like an old Kirby vacuum and caused him instant migraines; the Mova is a much more pleasant, subdued tone.
Minor Criticisms & Suggestions
• The Power Cord: For a premium machine, it should include a black power cord instead of white. Thankfully, it’s a standard, readily available cable, so I just used one of my spares.
• Solution Transparency: I wish Mova was more transparent about future solution options. Currently, there are only multi-floor, pet, and wood care options. It would be a massive win if a future software/firmware update allowed us to use other mild, pH-neutral solutions and manually set the dosing strength in the app.
Final Verdict
An exceptional value. If you buy, I highly recommend ordering directly from Mova to take advantage of their rewards system and perks, even if Amazon offers faster shipping.
*I would like to be honest and say I did use Gemini AI to make what I wrote an easier read as I do have a brain injury which affects my writing skills. However, this is my genuine experience and feedback, and is an honest review. I’m beyond pleased with the Mobius 60. I even named it Microbe Obliterator (Mo) after the little robot from Wall-E. Thank you Mova for making a product that’s miles above the competition. I look forward to using this for years.
